Scope of the job
The Head of Immunology will play a critical role in shaping our scientific strategy, advancing a pipeline of innovative therapies, and driving cross-functional collaboration to bring transformative treatments to patients with high unmet medical needs.
The ideal candidate will bring deep scientific expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of success in discovering and advancing immunology drugs to the clinic.
Responsibilities
Shape and execute the Immunology R&D strategy in alignment with corporate goals
Build and advance a robust portfolio of innovative immunology programs
Oversee progression of assets from early discovery through IND-enabling studies and into early clinical development
Collaborate with clinical development to design and interpret clinical trials
Lead discovery and translational research efforts in autoimmune diseases
Guide biomarker discovery, patient stratification strategies, and mechanism-of-action studies
Identify emerging scientific opportunities and therapeutic targets in autoimmune diseases
Provide scientific leadership across multiple discovery programs, including target validation, assay development, in vivo/in vitro pharmacology
Ensure scientific rigor and innovation
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure milestones are met
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
Partner with clinical, regulatory and commercial teams to align scientific goals with corporate strategy
Serve as the immunology expert in executive and board-level discussion
Cultivate relationships with academic institutions and key opinion leaders in autoimmune research
Represent the company at scientific conferences, advisory boards, and with key stakeholders
Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols
Contribute to the development of SOPs and best practices for oncology discovery Ensure a high-level scientific standard is maintained on all projects
Job requirements
Ph.D. with minimum 15 years of drug discovery experience in pharmaceutical and/or Biotech industry
Seasoned Immunologist with deep understanding of immune signalling pathways, T/B cell biology, and clinical landscape for autoimmune diseases (e.g., biologics, small molecules, cell therapies)
Proven track record of progressing small molecule and antibody programs from early discovery stage to clinical candidate nomination in autoimmune diseases
Strong leadership and team building-skills with previous management experience obtained within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
Demonstrated ability to drive multiple projects within a matrix-based organization and through internal and external collaborations
Extensive experience in establishing and coordinating collaborations with KOLs, CROs and biotech companies to support/accelerate internal discovery programs
Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
Entrepreneur mindset and ability to adapt and prioritize activities to challenging deliverables
Able to bring new ideas and strong at enabling creative thinking
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Passionate about bringing new transformative medicines to patients
